Greg Beda’s has posted his first weekly web comic strip, Wot is Life. A strip he has been working on for a while now. I had the pleasure to be his neighbor at Wondercon booth last year and this year.
He also told me about a very interesting project for APE’06 this year. I can’t wait.

Alexis Fajardo has posted an animatic featuring Hama the Pig from his comic, Kid Beowulf. Check it out. To watch it you will need the Quick Time plug-in. (not sure. if you have iTunes you have Quick Time all ready)

I helped Lex create the animatic as well as the Trailer for his comic book. For the Hama piece, Lex drew key drawings in which he scanned and colored in Photoshop. I then used Adobe After Effects to time out the visuals to the soundtrack. It was done in one day. This technique is used to pre-visulize animation before it is produced. Most of the drawings were all the same size and I used the 3D camera to move around for different shots.
It’s amazing what you can do with a few images and some sound. Sorta like the TV show Reading Rainbow!

The following poem is from the “Lost Epic Scrolls” unearthed during the Sutton Hoo excavation of 1939. This original recording was made shortly thereafter; it was translated and read by Prof.of Linguistics Haemish Fjord Fieldings of Suffolk University.
NOTE: I am the one who took Lex’s art and gave it motion. A service I offer to interested parties. Great for video loops or ipod downloads.

Harry-go-round has great notes from the PIXAR even last saturday. I am so glad, since I did not remember to take notes myself. The presentations at PIXAR are always inspiring.
