Well, my baby’s gone on a trip, so to speak.
I have given my graphic novel manuscript off to a trusted friend and colleague to read over.
I was thinking today that it’s a lot like a parent and child, and their relationship. Like a parent I care about my “child” my characters and story. But like a parent I can be a bit overprotective of them, too close. Some times being too close to the material won’t allow for the changes that are needed to happen.
Now, that is not to say that you should not be passionate about your work, or have a close connection to the characters that exist in your world you have created. The secret is a balance of love and logic I guess. If any one has words of wisdom, please comment.
In any case… I am really happy where the story is going. With the graphic novel format I have been able to add more detail to the story; new directions to go. It all feels right, and I hope you guys will check it out when it is finished. Stay tooned for more information.
