Yesterday I spent the day at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. They have an amazing show that is ending on Sunday: Traditions Unbound: Groundbreaking Painters of 18th Century Kyoto. I can’t put into words at how beautiful the art was and how much it releated to cartooning. So beautiful.
The use of negative and postive space. Painterly lines. Story telling and humor. The use of color. I definitly got some new ideas for my comics and cartoons. This is a sketch I did of the Drunken Saki Rouge, a deamon who like to drink.

Here are a few more sketches I did. Oh, so much to draw.
