On Sunday (5-1-05) I did a hands-on demonstration for the Bedford Gallery Family Day.
Using Boinx iStopMotion on a mac laptop and a digital video camera, we produced 1 min of animation in about 2.5 hours. That’s pretty good for animation.

Here is the set-up. The nice thing about iStopMotion it provides a ghost of the last frame taken so you know the difference from the last and current positions. They also have an onion skin feature, where you can see multiple frames, but we did not use that feature. The program is excellent, and only cost $40 for the basic version.
It was easy to save the movie as a DV stream and import it into iMovie where titles where added.
I would like to use the program again some time.
