After making trailers for comic books I am always interested to see how folks use cinematic techniques for promotion. I am particularly intersted in how traditional illustrations are used in the medium of motion.
Artist Brian Froud (the Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Fairies and his son Toby have produced a music video for the German musical group QNTAL. To promote the last book of “the Series of Unfortunate Events”, three videos can be found on author Lemony Snicket’s website. One video features the book’s illustrations animated with narration by Tim Curry. All the videos feature music by the Gothic Archies. >>Link
The NPR radio show, This American Life has a DVD of a episode called “Lost Buildings”. The cartoonist Chris Ware illustrated Ira Glass’ story and was presented originally as a slideshow on stage.
