First thoughts on the "Corpse Bride"

I just saw the Corps Bride, the new animated film by Tim Burton and co. I won’t do a whole review, since I want to take time to think about stuff first. It is not perfect, as the JHM review stated, but you will still have a great movie viewing time.

Wow, and wow again. This movie lifts the bar for Stop Motion with excellent acting and beautiful subtlety, craftsmanship, and uniqueness.

Pros:
The animation and acting is top notch.
There is at least one stand out song, “Remains of the Day,” and the first one, sung by the parents, helps move the story.
The plot that will keep you on your toes and guessing how it will turn out.
The main characters grow and mature and are very likeable.
A villain who you know will bite-it in the end, but will keep you on your seat waiting for it to happen.
Some very laugh-out-loud funny moments.
The action scenes are exciting.
The crafting is amazing with a certain quality that a CGI film will never have.
No stupid pop culture references, this movie will be good in the future and will not be dated so much.

Cons:
Two of the songs did not feel like they help the story move forward, and one important scene seems to missing some emotional bases to make it believable. (But it all gets back on track by the end)
If you don’t like Danny Elfman music, you won’t like the music/songs in the film.
