MacWorld 2005 San Francisco (pics)

Well MacWorld 2005 has come and gone. This year was the first time that the ultimate Macintosh convention did not take up both side of Moscone Center is down town San Francisco. Which meant that the south hall where it was held was more crowded then before, but required a lot less walking.

This is also the first year I did not go multiple days, for obvious reasons to you folks who read my blog.

First of all, the new product from Apple ROCK. The iPod mini is stylish mini player that will be the every of all your friends. And the new $500.00 Mac Mini is amazing too. Once again apple is the R&D for the rest of the industry. And things are never going to be the same. Imagine a tiny box that works as good as the giant Graphite iMac that I am typing on now. Wow.

Well lets get on with the pictures.

Here is my BART train coming. I’m late to meet my friend. LESSON LEARNED: go to bed instead of surfing the internet.

I met my friend at the left side of south hall where the classes where last year.

A gigantic banner for the new iPod shuffle

It’s me in front of the Apple booth. The white ‘poster’ behind me is actually a giant video screen. The Apple Computer booth was the busiest place, meaning that you could not cut through because of all the people jam inside. My sister thinks the bearded guy is a rock star, any guess, I think he’s just guy who walked through my picture.

a bad image of the demo of the new Myst game. And the rep told us there is one last final chapter to come. The game was amazing with smooth rotating panoramic movies that had animated effects like water flowing and clouds passing over the moon. Very beautiful, and just about the only adventure game there.

Miniature buildings of SF landmarks could be found at the coffee vendor in the right corner of south hall.

This is Colin Smith who went over some tips and tricks for Photoshop. Click on the link on his site to find out some. http://www.rockwoodheaven.com/. His was the last panel of the day at Adobe, right before the con closed till next year.

A photo of the sun setting at the nearby SF-MOMA where I work part time. Taken from the top of the Martain Luthor King monument at Yerba Buena Gardens.
