The site is one that strives to promote and understand the wonders of stop-motion animation as well as Mike’s own animation projects. Stop-motion animation is where objects are placed before a camera and altered ever frame to create the illusion of motion. This technique is used in such films as The Nightmare before Christmas, Chicken Run, Wallace and Grommet, and Pogo for President to name a few.
The highlights of the site is classic clips of puppet animation from Eastern Europe, as well as clips of newer projects. Currently you can also view a QuickTime movie of an upcoming animated short, The Phantom Inventory by Franck Dion on the main index page. Definitely worth the time to visit. Be warned though that some things on the site will take a while to download on a slow connection.
