Daily Drawing – Kids Monsters 01

Were at week #4 of the ‘May Mixers’ theme for my Daily Drawings. This weeks drawings are inspired by random anonymous drawings by children I got while teaching. These drawings mostly will date back over 5 years ago and were usual abandoned and forgotten when a class ended. I am going in and re-drawing the kid’s creations in my style and adding more details too.

Today we have 3 monsters; two are holding pages and one is…er….farting. Oh, the things kids draw.

Should be a fun week.

I will post the original drawings that served as inspiration next Sunday (or maybe sooner ;) )

Daily Drawing – May Mixer Mystery Week 3/07: Tough Guy 07

Todays drawing is the tough guy noir space dog punching out a robot.

So, this week I created this character with a new drawing each day for my Daily Drawing. I did not have a plan for this week as I had before and it was kind of nice to do it that way. Not sure if I will work this way again for the daily drawings, but it is now not out of the question.

The theme for week #3 is…nothing. You heard me, I am trying something new and that is not to have a theme this week. Last week I had a hard time keeping up, do to other obligations, so this week is freeform and will just be shaped over time. If you don’t read my blog everyday, come back on Sunday and I will see how all the drawings fit together.

Here is our tough guy dog in the classic comic coming-at-you pose.

The theme for week #3 is…nothing. You heard me, I am trying something new and that is not to have a theme this week. 3rd Thursday Animation

This animation was created at the 3rd Thursday event at the Cartoon Art Museum in January. We used vending machine figures and Paper Toys that had been made for the Paper Monster Party in 2010 and had guest manipulates them with an iMac running iStopmotion.

This was an activity we had wanted to do before, but this was a chance to experiment and see how it went. I did a similar activity for the second Paper Monster Party at the CAM recently.

And here we are at day 5 of 7 for this, week #3 of no-theme week for May Mixes for my Daily Drawings. Well, the theme is sort of sci-fi dog with jetpack. Not sure what will happen next.

I am at week #3 of my Daily Drawings for May 2013. I am trying new theme each week, so I have labeled the whole month the May Mixer. That’s cause everything is a bit mixed-up and all over the place.

Continuing the theme-less week here for the Daily Drawings, another drawing of the Tough Guy Dog from yesterday.
