When I go to a convention, one of the things that I enjoy most is the energizing feeling that comes form being in a room filled with other creative folks. So imagine one of the largest conventions in the US, the San Diego Comic-Con with it’s 100’s of thousands of artists, writers, and performers and the energy that bounces around the room so much that sometimes you need to fight your way outside and take a break. Well, this year I am not going down to Comic-Con, but after talking to my artist friends we decided that we still wanted to get together with our peers and get that energizing feeling. So in collaboration with the Cartoon Art Museum Bookstore we quickly set-up the first ever CAM Comic and Art Fest (Sat July 14, 2012). The event is open to everyone who wants to participate: Artist, Fan and everyone else.
We (inkDrinkDraw, which I am a co-founder) have no idea if anyone will even show up, but we are setting up featured special guests, space to make and sell art and lots, lots more. So come on down and join us.
