Belgian Fries in San Francisco

I just discovered FRJTZ fries in the Mission in San Francisco. They serve Belgian Style Fries and boy are they fantastic. Crisp on the outside and moist in the inside. AND they come with multiple choices (18) of dipping sauces, I had Pesto Mayo. The single order was easily enough for two people.

I also found a great website on fries including the history of why they are called ‘French’. Check it Out HERE. Belgianfries.com

3D Camera Mapping in AFX – Linda’s farm

This video is experimenting with taking a painting (this done by my friend Linda Carothers) and using Adobe After Effects 5.5 3D effect give it some depth. I think it came out rather well.

Sketch into (simple) 3D

Here I have taken a sketch and ‘projected’ into onto simple 3D shapes in Adobe After Effects. What a great effect for someone doing effect for 2D or stop-motion animation.

I was inspired by this Video Co-Pilot tutorial: http://videocopilot.net/videotutorials/3dprojection2/index.html If you like to mess around with AFX, they have lots of coolness here: http://videocopilot.net/tutorials.html

When I was 5…… (Schulz Museum art)

This is the drawing that I created for the Schulz Museum’s 5th anniversary from the theme “When I was 5….” I really did have a stuffed snoopy (still do) and I really did draw snoopy at a very young age.

NOTE: The drawing was (supposedly) to be drawn during the Schulz Museums Sketch-A-Thon, but I got a reprieve.

Schulz Museum Sketch-a-thon followup

A big thanks to the Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa for allowing me to be a part of the talented folks who participated in the sketch-a-thon to celebrate the museums 5th anniversary.

After Joe Wos asked me for a sketch I felt that I would do the same. Here are a few of the ones I got.

Vanessa Davis is a talented artist who does autobiographical comics. I love her loose style.

Heres Jorge Pacheco’s self-portrait drawing.

Trevor Alixopulos’s style looks so cool and loose and free.

Here is Joe making a bit of fun of my desire to re-draw a piece for the museum.

I will be be posting some of the sketches I got and some more notes as soon as I get them scanned.
