Comic Con post 1

Well, here I am…ready for my first day at Comic-Con 2006.

This year I have a pro badge instead of the exhibitor badge so I don’t get in early.

The CAM booth is very cool and the folks I am with are awsome. That’s booth E-11.

Today I am going to a panel with Linda Medley and plan to buy her book of Castle Waiting. I also need to go find lots of the artists I know. I also want to find some of my favorites. Definitely Charles Vess and Brian Froud, Jeff Smith, The Astonish Factory and so on. Lots to do and lots of people. The crowds have been crazy, even for the preview night.

Today I need to get my press kits together and to start researching who are the lucky folks to get them.

Well my time is almost up on this machine.

I will post again soon.

Keep reading comics.

Taste of Tooning at the Schulz Museum

This Monday and Tuesday I taught the first two days of the Taste of Tooning cartooning class at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa CA. It was a lot of fun, but hard work too. The class was 3.5 hrs, so the young kids get restless if you don’t move fast enough.

more info and photos coming soon.

Updates on BTGC and SDCC06

Well, I’ll be in San Diego in 12 days. Lots to do.

I am putting together my BTGC press kit, a BTGC sketchbook, and a regular sketchbook. I will also be selling BTGC #1,#2, Anthologies, Guide to Other Worlds as well. So much work, so little time. I also have one other project that might make it to San Diego as well, but it won’t start until Thursday and will be done by Friday.

I am also creating a teaser poster for BTGGC that can be seen at my booth, E-11 along with other art prints of my paintings and drawings.

I will be, trying to post from San Diego as often as I can, but I won’t make an promises.

I arrive on Wednesday morning and will spend the day exploring Balboa Park. Then that night I will be at the Cartoon Art Museum booth E-11.

I plan on mostly walking the floor and networking and such on Thursday.

Friday and Saturday I will mostly be at the table selling comics and drawing commissions.

Then Sunday I will be mostly on the floor again, trying to network and follow up with anyone I met.

Busy Busy Busy.

unofficial Andreas Deja website

Here is a German site about one of my favorite artist, Andreas Deja (who is german born). He is a 2D animator at the Disney studios who, besides being kick ass talented, also wants to keep using his pencils over some digital method. AND now that there are rumors of Disney Feature Animation having some 2D projects in the works, Mr. Deja’s skills might be in need even more then the last few years.Make sure to check out his drawings of animals, there is so much life and appeal in them. Mr. Deja is responsible for Disney Character’s Jafar, Gaston, Lilo, King Triton and many others.

Note: the site is in German only.
