October 13,2013- Posted and drawn late.

This drawing was actually done on Thursday October 17 at a workshop I was teaching. This style of character is one of the basic lessons I give a lot of young artists who like to draw, but are not well versed in the concepts of blocking/constructing a character ahead of time from basic shapes. This character is a classic style in much the same way as Mickey Mouse and Felix the cat…circles for the head, chest and waist and cylindrical shapes for the arms and legs. The simple construction allows for me to demonstrate drawing the character from different angles, which the young man picked up excellently.
I inked the drawing in my sketchbook so I could catch-up with my #inktober drawings that are happening this month. This one is drawing No. 12.
