ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
This Saturday (June 10, 2006, 1-3 pm) I will be the artist in residence at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. I will be working on Beyond the Great Chimney live and in person. So come on by and say Hi.
Note: admission is required to enter the museum. I also will be one of the teachers in the Taste of Tooning class in July 10-11. Visit the learn section to find out more.
CARTOON ART CAMP: Character Creation June 26-30, 2006
It’s official! Press releases have gone out for my kids class I am teaching at the Cartoon Art Museum at the end of the month. It will be a class on Character Design and Creation for kids ages 10-14. The goal will be to create our own original characters, ending the week with a show and tell review with a special guest.
The class is intermediate level, so it is aimed at those kids who love to draw and work hard at it, but need to take the next step artistically. Some of the areas we will be working on: Constructing a character in all three dimensions, pose an attitude, costume and facial expressions.
All materials will be provided for the students and at the end of the week they will get a folder full of notes and arts that they can proudly look back on in years to come.
I hope some of my readers, who are youngsters, will join me on June 26-30, 2006.
