One of the best writing sites on the web, Absolute Write is back on line, thanks to the hard work of many dedicated members. It was taken down by a agent scammer (one of the top 20 worst agent that is) who did not like that folks were talking about how she was a scammer. But now their back, and writers can rejoice.
Even though I mostly draw pictures, that does not mean I don’t need some (read: lots) help with spelling, grammar, and story structure. There are lots of professionals writers on the boards, and there is lots of good advice too.
I know some folks who really missed visiting Absolute Write and were going through withdrawal symptoms. To make matters worse, the few disgruntled enemy’s of the board came out of the woodwork to cheer the boards supposed “death.” Sadly most of the complainers were either a) scammers or b) were kicked off the board since they could not play nice.
Here is my previous post about it if you want to read more. I have most of the relevant links there as well.
If you want to find out more about publishing and agents to watch out for, visit the Writers Beware Blog. Eventually the scammers will start to attract Graphic Novel/Comic book folks, and we can’t let that happen.
