Well, 24 Hour Comic Book Day is tomorrow October 18, 2008. They have all ready started and finished in Finland and Brasil. I will be at Comic Outpost in San Francisco from 11 am on Saturday to 11 am on Sunday. I will be missing for a few hours near the start while I go to teach a class at the Cartoon Art Museum (the class is from 1 pm to 3 pm). The challenge is to create a 24 page comic in 24 hours (or less in my case).
I am all ready to go with 30 sheets of pre-ruled card stock, a selection of materials including brush and ink, iPod, florescent desk lamp, reference material, food and drink, a super possible action figure, and other stuff. My fear now is that I will be overwelmeed and frustrated. I want it to be great looking, but that is a tough one considering we will be creating at 4am. But I am looking forward to pushing myself as well.
The challenge is really like an Iron Man Competion or like the TV show Iron Chéf: you are given material at the start and have to make something out of it and it also tests your skills to push you to create.
In any case, if you want to visit the store, since it will be open for 24 hours, come on by: 2381 OCEAN AVE. SAN FRANCISCO, CA. 94127 (415) 239-COMX (2669) – http://www.comicoutpost.net. Open 24 hours through the whole event.
Or, if you can’t make it in person, you can get updates on-line at:

Well, I still need to gather some materials for tomorrow. Hope to see some of you at Comics Outpost.
Don’t forget to check back next week to see my final comic!
