BTGC update
I am happy to report that the rough pencils of the first chapter (28 pages) of the Graphic Novel is done.
I am trying something new for the novel where I do rough pencils for the entire chapter first, allowing for me to flesh out the page layouts and catch my artistic mistakes before extra time is spent to fix mistakes. The pages range from tight details to loose sketchy pencils to marks that represent something that has to be designed or redesigned. I also have designing 6 new characters and redesigned 1 that I will reveal as I get to rendering the final pages.
My goal is to be able to show you folks at least 1/3 of the chapter 1 by APE, but that is not taking into account an ever increasingly busy schedule that might throw a wrench into my plans.

w00t!
I’m becoming convinced that graphic novels are a rather special thing, since reading Shaun Tan’s The Arrival. I always liked them, but I hadn’t fully realised what they could *do*.
May yours be wonderful. May I get to read it *soon*.
I love graphic novels. So far I’ve only read Manga. “Cowboy Bebop” and “Naruto.” I would love to see a graphic novel that is not Japanese.
I’ve seen “Maus” but really not into WWII anymore.
I really admire people who do art like this. It must need an awful lot of planning before you even set pen to paper. Good luck!
Imelda,
Some of it’s planning, but some of it is simply years of experimenting and trying new things. In any creative endeavor we build a repertory of ideas, concepts and designs that we can pull out of the date-base later on. The same is true with writing.
