Twice Upon a Time on YouTube

Twice Upon A Time is on YouTube. I had the pleasure of having an animation stint with Director of the film John Korty. Twice Upon A Time is the precursor to a lot of what we see today. Stand-up comedians doing voices, graphic visuals like in a flash cartoon. In this case they are paper cutouts made of translucent materials, back lit. It is a hilarious and beautiful film with charm and wit. Check it out on HERE.
The first clip features the Berkeley Postoffice and photos of the SF-BayArea. The visuals are amazing and it’s really funny. Plus it features some of the first computer camera moves to give it a slick feel.

I love the visuals, but that rock song during the intro scenes really sounds dated. It sounded like early 80s Toto.
Oh, and I wouldn’t say the visuals are “like a flash cartoon”, instead, flash cartoons are obviously using this look and feel as their model,
It’s funny, but I like the songs a lot. I know it’s dated, but still there is some energy in it that seems exciting.
