Michael Sporn Animation

Animator Michael Sporn has a new website for his New York animation studio. Their best known work is for the Weston Wood’s animated adaptations of children’s books. The studio produces creative, artistic animation that, much of the time, emulates the look of different illustrators and artist.

Michael recently posted on his Splog (blog) about a feature they are working on about Edger Allan Poe. It seems to me that a whole lot of the New York animators are working towards the goal of longer format work. Nina Paley is doing Sita Sings the Blues, Pat Smith is working on something larger, then there is Bill Plimption who has done 3 features all ready. There is sure to be some very exciting material in the future.
