Format result

On my last post I talked about experimenting with how big to draw art for Issue #3 of BTGC. Requirements:

- Since I use watercolor washes, the art has to be a size that showcases the style in the best possible way.

- Big enough to get a good quality work, small enough to scan and still look good.

- A size comfortable to work on with out feeling like the art is being forced down in size

Here are some of my results (featuring the Masked Mariner)

The result: All of the sizes have their strengths and weeknesess. While working at the actual comic book size 6.50″ x 10.50″ is nice and you can really see the texture of the painting and brush work, the larger sizes are a bit easier to draw the detail that I would like to have. So many choices. It’s nice to know that as an artist we have so many options on how to do our art work. But if you think about it too much, it makes your head hurt.
