From 5-17-12. I did the drawing last night at a life drawing session with a friend. The model Emily was fantastic. The spaceship interior and cig where my own addition to tell more of a story.

As mentioned in my trip report from the Dickens Fair this past weekend I attended the Pre-Raphaelite Artist Salon at the Adventures Club at the event. Here we were transported to a period drawing session with models recreating a religious scene while live harp music was played and poetry recited. It was a pretty awesome experience that I would recommend all artist visit when at the fair. The salon was at 3:30pm and ran about 45 min.
Warm up sketches while the event was getting set-up…
My drawing from the posed models… (note: the club seal was actually on the back of the drawing paper, but I photoshoped it on front so you could see it)
And some photos from the session…

I went to Dr. Sketchys SF this last Tuesday February 23, 2010 at 111 Minna in San Francisco. The models were Amelia Mae Paradise and Sir Loin Strip, a couple of bearded ladies (who are a couple, in fact they are married).
One challenge was to draw the ladies as Werewolf’s. Below is my entry which got 2nd place. who we had to draw as werewolf. I got second place for this drawing which has been colorized in PhotoShop. Maybe next month I will finally win first prize.

The other night at Dr. Sketchys San Francisco I tried something new…to draw a comic from the life drawing models who where the Bay Area Derby Girls. I found that using the gestures (2 min poses) maybe was too fast and since there were 5 rotating models it made it hard to form a story. So taking that into account, here is my final result. See photos of the model session on the official blog HERE.

This drawing is from last nights Dr. Sketchy’s San Francisco. The models were the local Bay Area Derby Girls. There were a handful of girls who posed in full Roller Derby gear including their skates. This drawing was for the contest that happens each month. The challenge where to draw them as Zombies. I came in second place. I have a second piece and lots of sketches to share zoon, so stay tuned.
