826 Valencia Field Trip artwork

Today I did another volunteer cartooning job at 826 Valencia writing center in San Francisco. Above is the cover for the book which I illustrated with the 4th graders of Cesar Chavez school. They were a great bunch of kids. It was fun.

ABP Propagation of the web.

I just switched this website over to a new hosting service (cheaper then my old one, Yahoo, with more features and ease of use). If you are reading this blog, it means that the domain propagation has succeeded. If you are not, this is only a dream.

The process of switching service has been a trial in it’s length. Every domain server in the world has to cashe my site location for speed by it’s users. In fact I could not get my regular mail through my mail app un-till ISP knew where the new hosting was. But all that is behind me and all is right with the world. Plus I cut my web-hosting fees in half.

The Art of Schmoozing

Guy Kawasaki has an interesting post on his blog How to Change the World: A practical blog for impractical people. In his post, “The Art of Schmoozing”(via Lifehacker.com) he has headings like: Get out, Unveil your passions, Make it easy to get in touch, and Give Favors. It’s odd that those things are the same as networking and making friends (something that gets harder to do as you get older).

The only thing I don’t like is calling it shmoozing. To me shmoozing sounds like a slimy manipulative thing, but calling it Networking makes it sound like the positive thing it is.

This is something to remember when I am not feeling like going to the next comic book convention.
