My canadian pal Adam reminded me its Talk Like A Pirate day on next monday, september 19th. Not sure if its possible to do it all day, but it could be fun. The site even has instructions on how to talk like a pirate, for those of us who don’t know how.

"The love train"
The love train is a lovely animated short film about a dragon who is looking for love. Featuring hand drawn animation, it plays soft and sweet. Check it out at the Slamdance website.

Attack of the Inflatable People
A long while back I reported on an interesting trend in Hollywood (AKA Vancouver Canada), to fill a stadium with inflatable people. They are a lot cheaper they using extras, and don’t need to go to the bathroom. The company that is doing this is Crowd in a Box. The website features videos and photos of this unique product.

Animator: Pat Smith
Pat Smith might be best known for his animated ads for Zoloft (feel good medicine), but he is also the artist behind many funny animated shorts as well. His latest one is “handshake”. On his site you can see a highlight from the movie, as well as a video of the orchestra that provided the music. There are lots of really cool stuff on the site.

update 9-13-05
Here is my drawing desk. It was made by Dad when I was a wee lad. I made the animation disk a few years ago.
Here is my new board. Well, it’s not really new, just in a new place.
Here are some charcter designs I penciled and inked last night.

Update 9-11-05
Did some more work, but had to step back when I found that my pencils where not tight enough. That is the problem of working when you havent for a while, you want to jump right in.

Here is detail of Victor’s mother. I am please at how pretty she looks in the pencil drawing, hope I can ink it as well. Notice she has the same stray hair Victor has.
