Convention Trick #1 – CD Case Signage

Here is a neat sign I just came up with……..Well I am sure someone else has thought of it before, too. I was inspired by an artist’s calendar that was done like this. The trick is to have a box that folds back neatly.

Beyond the Great Chimney # 2: the trip beyond (part 2 of 3) Sample Pages

Hey, here are some images from Issue#2 of Beyond the Great Chimney. Lets start with the cover. The big change from the version that I produced for Comic-Con are: no mention of Comic-Con and revised logo.

This page is part of the flash back as Victor Grassroot tells out the last time he saw his Kidnapped Uncle.

Victor and Sir Tugert Vole are staying in a Boarding House run by Tillie and Shamus Murphy and there Niece Kate. Here our heroes sit down to some breakfast and discuss how they will look for Victor’s missing uncle.

The villain Agacon gets a report from his familiar raven and almost catches Wendell talking to the trap Prisoners.

Well there you have it, some sample pages. I will post more later this week. See them in more detail, visit me at Wondercon 2005, this weekend (feb 18-19-20).

BTGC #2 DONE!!!

I’m Done!!!

As of Today, Issue #2 of my fantasy comic book, Beyond the Great Chimney has been sent off to the printer, and will be available (knock on wood) for APE, the Alternative Press Expo on April 9/10. I don’t want to jinks it by talking too much about it, but as always, I will keep you informed on what’s going on.

It is always hard to let go of my ‘baby’. There is always something else that you want to change about it, but it is only one step towards the next project, and then the next. And I have lots of tales to tell of Victor, Kate, Wendell, and Sir Tugert.

Why not drop by Wondercon this weekend (Feb 19-20-21) and take a look at the final product. And while you are there, why not pickup some of the art and prints I will be selling at the con. See you there.

BTGC #2 really almost done

Well, some of you might not believe that I am almost done with Issue #2 of Beyond the Great Chimney, but I am. See:

In this photo you can see the PDF being made in ImageReady from Adobe.
More then half of the final edits are done. That is, I have gone though and correct spelling, replaced art with ‘fixes’ as well as added the final word balloons. My biggest offenders in my art for me: Hands and Eyes. But I have improved them a lot.

In fact one of the few things that are holding me back is waiting for the Printer to contact me. I am going with a small printer so I can do a small manageable run (250 copies) Now if any one wants to see the final product, they should come to Wondercon in San Francisco next weekend and I will show you a beautiful print out of the final story. Come on by.

Here are some screen grabs of the Marvel SuperHeroes ad for the Visa card. Possibly trying to copy the success of the Jerry Scienfeld/Superman ad from last year.

BTGC #2 update

I am just finishing the last of the corrections in issue #2, both words and pictures. This gives me a chance to fix those little things that are still bugging me like a characters eye that seems off, or a hand that looks like a claw. So I probably won’t be updating for a few days. But I have lots of stuff to show you when I do, or, at least that is what I am saying.

I also am working on a special project for Wondercon. You see, I won’t have issue #2 back in time for Wondercon in two weeks, so I am planning on having a special project for sale. You will just have to wait and see.
